Die TuS Bad Aibling Firegirls starteten erfolgreich in die Play Downs mit einem knappen 64:63-Sieg gegen TG Wildcats Würzburg. Aiblings Neuzugang KeAunna Johnson konnte mit Erfahrung und Treffsicherheit das junge Team zu einem verdienten Sieg führen. Trotz anfänglicher Nervosität bestimmten die Firegirls das Tempo und legten einen Traumstart hin. Ein knapper Vorsprung von 37:32 zur Halbzeit wurde in der zweiten Hälfte auf 13 Punkte ausgebaut. Im letzten Viertel fanden die Würzburgerinnen ihren Rhythmus und konnten kurz vor Ende mit 1 Punkt in Führung gehen. Johnsons Erfahrung bewies sich im entscheidenden Moment, als sie von der Freiwwurflinie das Spiel drehte. Ein knapper Sieg, der den Firegirls einen wichtigen Auftakt bescherte.
